The Cleansing Flame are an order of paladins and knights dedicated to The Purifying Light, a godlike force of radiance and good. The goal of the order of paladins is to cleanse the world of evil, push back the darkness, and bathe the lands in the light of holiness. They are often the main force involved in remediation of powerful spell burnouts that have summoned terrible creatures or caused catastrophe. As such, they are often seen as mage slayers and inquisitors of arcane phenomena. Members of The Cleansing Flame undergo strict training and are adept at handling spellcasters. They wear polished silver and gold trimmed armor and are surprisingly well-funded. In many territories, they act outside of local governments and are often above the law.
