One of the most well-known landmarks in the [[Argent Wildlands]], the story behind it's infamy predates the regions recent re-settling by hundreds of years. Alvarr's Leap sit's atop a thousand foot cliff on the edge of the [[Ebonwall Range]] overlooking the evergreen forests below. The sad story of Alvarr's leap is one that shook the whole continent and cemented the deep-seated fears that the early nations held about [[Celestial Vestiges]]. [[Alvarr Blackmont]] was born a lowly carpenter's son near present-day [[Holzweg]] overlooking the [[Brinepool Sea]]. Folk still tell of his boyhood accomplishments to this day, like his single-handed construction of the local church in the span of one summer at the age of nine. It was this miracle that gained the attention of the region's clerics - the boy's natural talent as a carpenter far exceeded the knowledge he could absorb from his carpenter father. Few spoke outwardly of their hypotheses, but the silent agreement was the the boy must be a vestige of [[Pantheon|Kern]]. Rapidly rising above the life expected of a carpenter's son, Alvarr took his talents to the Burgeoning city of [[Altenkrieth]]. His most prized work there is the Kernshall, an understated name for the most magnificent cathedral known to [[Tevrand]]. During the construction of one of it's 300ft towers, and with sight far beyond the ability of a normal man Alvarr spotted an incoming battalion sailing north from Vomenad. It's said he leapt from the tower, hammer in hand, and lead the defense of the city himself. Whether true or not, historical accounts say not a single man died who fought behind Alvarr that day. The wonders worked by Alvarr Blackmont, now openly touted as a Celestial Vestige, continued into his early adulthood, at which point a second vestige was found in the elven woman [[Eliyen Advalur]]. It was the fertile country near present-day [[Biard]] that was blessed with the birth of a vestige of [[Pantheon|Enibria]]. To this day, the plentiful vineyards in the region pay their respects to her by pouring into the soil the first cup from each barrel they open. Pharene does owe her it's gratituted, for the Biard region was one of dry prairie before Eliyen began her work of tending grapevines and fermenting their products. Stories say that a drink from a barrel blessed with even a drop of her own brews forever changed a man or woman. A sip made music sound sweeter, a gulp made every face prettier, and a cup could ignite a fire of creativity or passion. The only known favorable meeting of two vestiges occurred when Eliyen accompanied a shipment of wine brewed from her very own garden to Altenkrieth. It was to be a gift from [[Pharene]] to the nations of Tevrand as a barrel was brewed for each and a part held in each capital accordingly. Present at the ball in Altenkrieth where last barrel was tapped, Alvarr drank but a sip. Known to many men before, a sip is enough to change a person. It wasn't creativity that was sparked in Alvarr, but passion, and Eliyen was focus. Before making the return trip to Pharene, Eliyen decided to visit the far side of the [[Ebonwall Range|Ebonwalls]] where few people lived, but natural beauty was to be beheld. Not wishing to see her go alone, Alvarr volunteered himself as servant and guide, and thus doomed himself. As they went, Eliyen revealed she had hidden away a few barrels of her wine to enjoy herself on her journey, and shared openly with her partner on the road. Both were ignorant of the change in Alvarr, but the wine was like poison for he grew ever more loving toward the elven vestige. It was atop the monumental cliff one evening, when Alvarr spoke his intent to Eliyen, and where she told him that a wedded life was not meant for her. Nobody knows what was actually said in the conversation, but the ground shook from the [[Wraithguard Bay]] to the shores of [[Marbencia]] when Alvarr's body hit ground. Her wine was poison to a man whose strength of arm was second only to strength of heart, and with the latter left empty, his will to live left him. It is unknown what became of Eliyen, but she never returned to Pharene. Some say it was her that established present-day [[Ahnd-Saintra]]. [[Mistbarrow]], situated below Alvarr's Leap, sits in a crater overhung with a sad fog to this day. Wine is not drunk in that town, but they do not live sober out of disrespect for Eliyen. They do so in order to show their love to her without mask of indulgence.
